We are a team of executives and entrepreneurs looking for a business ready for an ownership transition. We aim to continue to grow and improve the company over the long term while preserving its historical strengths.
Our offering
Successful ownership transition. We are looking to partner with the company’s owners to ensure a successful and flexible ownership transition which would involve a full or partial exit of the current owners from the business.
Active management. We will be dedicated to operating a single business on a full-time basis after the acquisition using our international expertise in strategy, finance, and operations to ensure long-term success.
Long-term ownership. We are looking to sustainably grow the business over the long term with no fixed divestment timelines while ensuring that the company’s legacy lives on.
Senior expertise. We are supported by a team of senior advisors with a combined 50+ years of managerial and operational experience who could take on board member roles after the acquisition.
Access to capital. We are working with a team of investors with experience investing in and operating medium-sized businesses enabling us to complete a transaction quickly and structure it in a flexible manner.

Our team
Prior to founding Shawshank Capital, Ahmed got his start in the oil and gas industry as a petroleum engineer supporting deepwater operations in the Gulf of Mexico. During his career with Shell, he worked offshore focusing on operational excellence and safety standards supporting well operations on a day-to-day basis. Working as an engineer in the office, he advised on key investment decisions to strategically expand production, expand reserve volumes, and support drilling operations. He aspires to lead a business to help it grow for the next generation of industry.
Ahmed holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Ahmed speaks English, Spanish, and Arabic and has worked in the US and Spain.
